Claremont AYSO - Fall Registration is Now Open!!!

Returning to Play

Covid-19 Safety Information

Come Back and PLAYSO CCER!!!

Claremont AYSO has been cleared by state, county, and city health officials to resume soccer activities under social distancing restrictions. Though this season is going to be a little different, we’re still super excited to return to play! We hope you’ll join us for skills-based practices starting September 28!

For more information, please see our Claremont AYSO Return to Play Guidelines and our FAQ responses below.

What’s the Registration deadline?

We need players (and coaches!) to register by  September 1  so we can see how many teams we’ll be able to field.

What’s the cost?

When you register, you’ll be placed on a waitlist until September 1. You won’t be asked to pay until September. We’ve reduced Fall registration to $80, which includes AYSO National fees and a team shirt, as well as our usual operating costs. There will also be a transaction charge of $2.75

What if I already registered and paid more than $80?

If you’ve already registered, you can receive a refund of the amount you paid over our reduced price. Please fill out a refund request on our website (click here) by September 1. Select the option “I wish to play soccer this Fall. Please refund me the difference in fees.” We’ll process refunds after September 1.

What if I already registered but don’t want to participate this Fall?

If you’ve already registered but changed your mind about participating, you can receive a refund by filling out a refund request on our website (click here) by September 1. Select “I do not wish to play soccer this Fall. Please refund me the full amount, less the nonrefundable national fee and transaction fee.” We’ll process refunds after September 1.

What will the season look like?

Players and coaches will hold skill-based training sessions that allow for social distancing twice a week starting September 28 and continuing through November 21. Practice sessions may occur on Saturdays this year. Players should bring their own soccer ball and water bottle. Caregivers for U12 and old players should drop off and pick up players or watch from cars. One caregiver may attend practices for younger players in a designated sideline area but must wear a face covering and remain 6 feet from people outside their household. This model of play equates to Stage One of our Return-to-Play plan, which is posted on our website (click here).

What is socially distanced training?

The State and LA County Health Departments have imposed rules limiting youth sports activities, which we must follow to have access to Claremont sports fields. Until health officials say otherwise, we aren’t permitted to have games or scrimmages and players and coaches must wear masks and keep 6 feet apart during practices. If conditions and regulations change, we’ll adjust.

Will we get to play games?

Right now, we can’t hold games or scrimmages. If conditions and regulations change, we will re-evaluate. We’re keeping open the option of having a short playoff type tournament in December or January, if conditions allow. For obvious reasons, we can’t commit to that now.

Are these restrictions for real?

Yes. We recognize people have different opinions about what should be required. These decisions are out of our hands, but it’s our job to enforce the rules. We appreciate your compliance and understand if you choose not to participate this season. We’ll do everything we can to make it a fun outlet for the kids despite the restrictions!

Who will coach?

You! We’re still an organization of volunteers and still need a coach, an assistant coach, and a team parent for each team. We provide coach training for new coaches, and this season we will provide supplemental training workshops and practice plans for running socially distanced practices for all coaches.

Will there be Walk-In registration?

No, registration will be online only. In the past we’ve used walk-in registrations to recruit volunteers, take requests to play with siblings and friends, and note days you can’t practice. Please help us out by registering as a volunteer coach, assistant coach, or team parentwhen you register your player and by noting your other requests in the online form.

Are EXTRA teams playing?

Our Claremont Wolves Extra teams return to skill-based practice sessions beginning September 1. We’re building girls’ teams for U10, U11, U13, and U14 and boy’s teams for U10, U11, and U13. For now, these teams are limited to skills-based training, but the Extra program is year-round, so we anticipate they will return to full training sessions and scrimmages as well as league games and tournaments.

Can I register with an EXTRA team?

You can register for tryouts, which will be held when conditions improve. However, spaces are limited during the initial skills-based training period. We are looking for players for our boys’ U10, U11, and U13 teams and have a few spaces on our girls’ teams as well. See our website for more information about the program (click here). For information about participating in Extra skill-based trainings, contact Chris Hayes ([email protected]). You can register for Extra tryouts online, like with regular registration (but it's free), and someone will reach out to you at a later time.

What is the cancellation policy for the Fall Core program?

If you cancel your registration for our Fall Core program before the September 28 start date, we will issue a refund consistent with our posted refund policy (click here). Please use our refunds form (click here) for cancellations. No refunds are available after September 27.
