REFEREE REQUIREMENTS

Every game must be officiated by certified referees.  Below are the referee certification options:

• Basic Referee Online Companion course- One evening; Prior completion of the online training is required. Successful completion allows the volunteer to referee at all AYSO levels. 

• Basic Referee Classic course- Two evenings approximately 6pm to 9pm each night. Must attend both evenings. Successful completion means volunteer can referee at all AYSO levels.

It is up to each team to cover their referee requirements.Referees must be in proper referee attire and met all volunteer requirements in order to get credit. Below are the referee requirements for each age group:

• U6-U8 - Each team must provide 1 referee to cover their own game

• U10-U14
  • Fall: Teams are required to cover the game following their own, or if playing the last game of the day, they cover the first game of the day, in their division.  Home team will provide two referees and the visiting team will provide one referee.  Teams that do not fulfill their obligation will not be eligible to participate in the post season tournament.
  • Spring: Each team is required to cover their own game

• U19 - Each team may be required to AR during their own game if the region was not able to provide coverage.
