Positive Coaching
Positive Coaching is one of AYSO's six core philosophies. We believe the best way for kids to develop as players through positive encouragement and mentoring. Every AYSO coach is a volunteer. Come share the joy of soccer with your own child and the other members of the AYSO community of players and volunteers. We provide all the training you need to be successful. You provide the fun.
Claremont AYSO requires all coaches and assistant coaches to be certified in the age group they are coaching. You can be certified by participating in the clinics offered; no charge for these clinics. Register by clicking the AYSOU button on your volunteer page.
The clinics offer a foundation for beginning coaches and creative tactical advice for advanced coaches. The clinics will offer many fun, yet effective drills, useful handouts and practice demonstrations on the field.
What to bring to the clinics? Bring ball, water, running shoes/cleats, and be on time!
COACH REQUIREMENTS
In order to be a coach, the following requirements must be completed:
- Register as a volunteer through www.claremontayso.org. Login or Register your new account and click on the "Volunteer" link on the left. Volunteer forms must be completed / updated every year.
- Complete the Safe Haven, Concussion, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest courses at aysou.org.
- Complete the Coaches Certification course in the division you will be coaching. Training is free from aysou.org.
- Attend the ALL COACHES MEETING.
